About Us

Recovery is possible, and no one should have to navigate it alone. Whitman Recovery Community Center and Latah Recovery Community Center provide welcoming, peer-led spaces where individuals and families can find hope, connection, and support. Our centers are located at 531 S. Main Street in Moscow, Idaho, and 226 E. Main Street in Pullman, Washington, allowing us to serve communities on both sides of the state border.

Our Recovery Community Centers are safe, inclusive environments where people from all backgrounds and life experiences are welcomed without judgment. Staff, volunteers, and Certified Peer Counselors work together to foster a recovery-centered community that honors lived experience and embraces all pathways of recovery.

Founded in 2015, the Latah Recovery Community Center has become a trusted resource, offering weekly peer support groups, educational workshops, sober social activities, free recovery coaching and peer support, and serving as home to a registered Rural Crisis Center.

Established in 2025, the Whitman Recovery Community Center is rapidly expanding to meet the needs of our community. Our center offers free recovery coaching and resource navigation, peer support, educational workshops, wellness activities, sober social events, and connections to essential community resources. With new groups, classes, and partnerships being added regularly, WRCC continues to grow as a hub for recovery, hope, and belonging in Whitman County.

Together, our centers are committed to building stronger, healthier communities by empowering individuals in recovery, reducing stigma, and ensuring that everyone has access to compassionate, peer-driven support regardless of where they are on their journey.

Our Approach

At Whitman Recovery Community Center, we believe that recovery is personal, and there is no single path that works for everyone. We meet people where they are with compassion, respect, and without judgment, recognizing that each person's journey is unique. Our services are peer-driven, meaning many of our staff and volunteers have lived experience in recovery and understand the challenges, setbacks, and successes that come with rebuilding a life.

We embrace all pathways of recovery, whether that includes abstinence, medication-assisted recovery, harm reduction, mental health recovery, or other individualized approaches. Rather than telling people what recovery should look like, we empower them to define their own goals and support them in achieving them.

Our approach is rooted in hope, connection, and community. Through peer support, recovery coaching, resource navigation, education, and sober social activities, we help individuals build meaningful relationships, strengthen resilience, and access the tools they need to thrive. We believe lasting recovery happens when people feel seen, supported, and connected to a community that believes in them.

We are also committed to reducing stigma and increasing access to recovery support throughout Whitman County. By partnering with healthcare providers, schools, community organizations, and local agencies, we work to ensure that everyone has access to compassionate, person-centered support regardless of where they are on their recovery journey.
